Spring seems to be here in full force this year. Many who live in the Central Valley experience allergy-related symptoms. Sneezing, watery eyes, sinusitus and sinus infections. There is some good news though. You may have never heard of it before. It’s called the NasaFlo Neti Pot by NeilMed Pharmaceuticals. The reason I’m sharing this information, is that I suffer in the spring & fall. In the spring it’s from all the pollens in the air and in the fall from the dust related to the harvest. The good thing about the Neti Pot is that it reduces the severity of the symptoms I experience but it doesn’t dry out your nasal passages. Instead it flushes the nasal passages of mucous, allergens and debris. If you suffer during the spring & fall like I do or are involved in any kind of activity that exposes you to lots of dust or other airborne particles, try out a Neti Pot or the company’s other product, the Sinus Rinse. You can choose how much of a mixture you use. You can mix the saline solution to the strength you want; isotonic (neutral, replacing moisture in membranes) or hypertonic (higher concentration, drying out membranes). At the first signs of sinus problems, I start with a hypertonic solution and then work my way back to an isotonic solution, once everything gets back to normal.
I know it sounds weird, but trust me, it really works. You should be able to find it in the colds section of your nearest pharmacy. If you can’t find it there, I know they carry it at WalMart and Costco.
