Many popular Social Networking websites have been converted into FREE iPhone Applications. Here’s a short list
App Name | App Functionality | App Notes |
---|---|---|
LinkedIn website | Groups are missing from the iPhone App | |
MySpace Mobile | MySpace | |
Y! Messenger | Yahoo Messenger | Not compatible with desktop Conference |
AIM (Free Edition) | AOL Instant Messenger | |
TweetDeck | Twitter + Facebook | Transmit to multiple Twitter and Facebook accounts simultaneously |
For those that are iPhone users, are there other Social Networking Apps you use?
The Iphone is an expensive device to maintain and can be a bit intimidating to the non-tech novice. While it is convenient and has many user-friendly (and free) applications, what are some of the pros and cons of owning an Iphone versus having a phone and other electronic devices?
I used to think differently about iPhones. I didn’t see their complete usefulness until I started using one on a regular basis. It wasn’t until then that I completely understood the freedom of mobility. It is true that there are other Smartphones that offer similar functionality. If you already utilize text messaging on a regular basis then you’re half way there. My son, who has used a Blackberry for years for all his mobile needs, recently switched to the iPhone when I did. He tells me every day how much he loves his iPhone.

Cons:
In my opinion the pros outweight the cons. I’m never looking back.
Thanks for the pros and cons. It sounds like a worthy investment for anyone that needs to keep on top of all this modern technology. Just one last question…What is Flash?
Flash is an alias for Adobe Flash. Several Video Players, games and web applications are written in Flash.

I have read that Flash is very processor intensive and doesn’t play well with other applications. I also read that resources have not been provided by Adobe to resolve their issues. I read a rumor that the next version might be compatible with iPhone. So, this might be a non-issue in the near future.
Thanks Wes! For an IT professional you do a fantastic job of explaining in non-tech terms. I appreciate the information and I’d be interested to see if the next version will be compatible with the iPhone.
